Chalmers spreads kindness cards

With more people forced into self-isolation as the battle against Coronavirus continues, Rankin MP Jim Chalmers has hit on an old-fashioned way to combat new problems.

Logan residents found ‘kindness cards’ delivered to their letterboxes, courtesy of Mr Chalmers, allowing them to offer help to friends and neighbours in need of help.

Residents wanting to offer help can fill in their name and contact details, along with a range of simple services like dog walking, shopping or posting and collecting mail, allowing the recipients to contact their neighbours direct and arrange help as needed.

Mr Chalmers said he received numerous offers of assistance from the community for those in need of help, and felt the cards were the best way to connect anyone needing help with people able to assist.

“I love how selfless our community is, if you can help, fill in this card and drop it in the mailboxes of anyone you think might need a hand,” Mr Chalmers said.
